Past, Present & 未来
As our last post of 2021 is upon us we would like to wish you and your families a Very Merry Christmas & Happy New Year! It is hard to believe that 2021 is coming to a close already. It seems like just yesterday that we were turning the page from 2020 to 2021. What a great year it has been even through the tumultuous times we have all continued to experience. As the year is ending as always it is a great time to look back and reflect on the past year’s events and take stock.
Looking Back
Looking back we remember and want to learn from an uncontrollable lumber market. Storms that shut down ports, manufacturing plants, and transportation. As well as shipping and distribution delays like none any have seen before. Continuation of the COVID pandemic that has taken many lives, disrupted our healthcare system and caused changes in all of our business we could not have foreseen. We have also seen partnerships grow and become stronger than ever. A story of perseverance, trust, and sheer will to succeed together. At ICG we are looking at these past lessons and changing how we operate in the future. How can we be more nimble? How can we diversify supply to better serve our customers? What can we and should we do differently to ensure we meet and exceed our clients’ expectations?
Lessons Learned
As we reflect on the past year, lessons learned, and the experiences it provided us; we are looking at these questions and many more as we look forward to 2022. We are looking at ways to make our business stronger for our customers. We are looking at expanded capacity, newer technology, additional operations, additional field team members, drivers for distribution, truss and wall panel assemblers to IT, and much more. We are looking at the additional state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment and capabilities. We are looking at new vendors to help offset supply chain delays as best we can. We are exploring every and any new possibility, all in an effort to service our clients better. We want to determine which paths forward bring the greatest value and become laser-focused on those we feel will be the most beneficial to our customers and our customers’ customers.
Looking Forward
In 2022, we will see a 160,000 sq foot expansion come full circle at our Green Cove Springs plant. This added manufacturing capabilities and equipment will increase our local capacity by approximately 33%. We anticipate being able to produce around 2,500,000 additional sq feet of wall panels and trusses; taking us to approximately 12,500,000 sq feet in 2022. We have ordered new trucks & cranes to our fleet to ensure on-time delivery and a better ability to align delivery and on-time install starts. The capital we are infusing into the Green Cove Springs plant will better our clients and our community and we are excited to see it come full circle.
While we are very pleased with 2021 and are looking forward to a great 2022, we are also seeing continued signs of supply chain delays. We are seeing 7 month lead times on materials that a year ago took weeks to be delivered. We expect these delays to be significant in the first half through the third quarter of 2022. Planning and open communication will be key to all of us in managing these delays that are out of all of our control and being successful in spite of what this market is throwing at us.
In 2022, we look forward to the new year, new opportunities, and continued partnerships with you and your teams. Thank you for this great past year and again we wish you, your co-workers, and your families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
真诚地,
Chris Pisano
